Duncan Finlay, MD Joins Biolife LLC as Chief Medical Director

Biolife, LLC, manufacturer of patented medical devices for bleeding control and wound management, is pleased to
announce that G. Duncan Finlay, M.D. has joined the organization as Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Finlay brings to Biolife
a wealth of experience in medical leadership. From 1988 to 2005, he held several key appointments at Sarasota
Memorial Hospital (SMH) including Chief Medical Officer and culminating with 5 years as President and CEO. During
his tenure, SMH experienced significant increases in patient and employee satisfaction scores and, in 2005, was
named one of America's Best Hospitals by US News and World Report in seven medical specialties.
Dr. Finlay earned his Medical Degree at the University of Florida and performed his internship and residency at Emory
University's Grady Memorial Hospital. He has been active in the Sarasota community by helping establish clinics,
nursing programs and other healthcare initiatives. Dr. Finlay has served on the boards of several community-oriented
associations and, in 2005 was awarded the University of South Florida President's Distinguished Citizen Award.
In his new role, Dr. Finlay will serve as Biolife's senior medical representative sharing his expertise and insight in a
variety of venues ranging from internal functions such as product development and new product marketing, to external
forums such as seminars and professional society functions. Biolife President and CEO, Sam Shake said of Dr.
Finlay's appointment, "His expertise and guidance certainly helps to round out our knowledge of acute healthcare
